TONTO DIKEH'S GOOD WORKS FOR HUMANITY

Nollywood actress and humanitarian, Tonto Dikeh universities’ tour on human trafficking has gotten more hype than expected. The tour tagged ‘The uncomfortable truth,’ is a project organised by The Tonto Dikeh Foundation and National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP). The event which held at the University of Abuja, Management Science Hall, Main Campus, was put together in commemoration with World Day against Trafficking in Persons. According to the actress, the campaign is set to create awareness on human trafficking in an innovative way. Experts and ministry leaders such as NAPTIP DG Barr Julie Okah-Donli, Prof Adikwu and many more created time out of their busy schedules to educate the audience on pressing issues and topics that have been overlooked. Entertainers at the event as hosts included Bobrisky, Toyin Abraham, Halima Abubakar, Style Plus, Maivano and others.

Anthony Joshua has admitted he is looking past upcoming opponent Alexander Povetkin                   with eyes on a huge mega-fight against Deontay Wilder, stating he’d be “very annoyed” if a deal couldn’t be agreed on.    President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba has assured Nigerian workers that ongoing negotiations for a new national minimum wage will be concluded before the end of August, expressing the hope however that implementation will begin immediately. ARE DEFECTING SENATORS CORRUPT?

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has described senators who defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) as corrupt politicians who are afraid of being arrested if President Buhari wins his second term bid. The governor said President Buhari dislikes corruption and will not work with any corrupt politician to cheat Nigeria. PREMIUM TIMES reported how 14 senators and 37 members of the House of Representatives left the APC. Majority, including a Kaduna senator, Suleiman Hunkuyi, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr El-Rufai described the defecting senators as enemies of President Buhari and Nigerians. He disclosed this while answering questions during a Hausa media chat aired on radio stations in the state on Thursday.       Manchester United have completed the signing of Poland U16 captain, Łukasz Bejger. Manutd.pl. reports that the Red Devils are on the brink of announcing the capture of the teenager after he successfully passed a medical examination on Saturday, July 28. Bejger has been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford after undergoing trials with the club in August 2017 and it was thought the deal had collapsed after they announced their new scholarship intake for the new season without including the Pole. He will become the second Polish player to wear the jersey of Manchester United in recent seasons, following the footsteps of goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The youngster is a versatile defender who can equally play as a central defender, right-back and defensive midfielder. He moves to Manchester United from Lech Poznań.
